Thanks
Thank you so much for all the well-wishes for Carlos. He is getting better everyday and the treatment he is getting is working well. He moved ward today so is in good spirits in his new surroundings which are a bit nicer than the temporary ward he was in before. Hopefully if he continues to improve he will get home on Monday.
Freya and I had a quiet morning then I collected Noah from his sleepover. Marisol and I went visiting then had a nice coffee and cake in Flava. Tonight Freya is out so Noah and I had a curry and watched a movie after a quick visit to the hospital so that Carlos could enjoy some time with his mates who had come to visit.
After the movie I watched an excellent documentary on iplayer called "when albums ruled the world". It followed the rise of the LP as the driving force of the music industry in the mid 60's with Dylan's first album through to the death of vinyl in 1979 with the rise of the cassette, the Walkman and MTV all leading to its demise.
It made me realise I didn't have any Hendrix on my iTunes, which I remedied immediately, mine having been on vinyl or bootleg cassette! I also discovered Carole King's magical Tapestry which someone described as your big brother or sister making you a cup of tea when you're having a bad day. Perfect for my mood just now, a proper sonic soother.
I don't know where I got my love of my music, it's always been a part of me and the way I was grinning with the hairs standing up on the backs of my arms (dark side of the moon, of course) made me thankful for its presence in my life. Whether its listening to old favourites or discovering new talents it always brings a pleasure and a comfort which is hard to come by any other way.
