Only a weed

When we were kids this was simply called Bindweed - and 'weed' being the operative word.
Then we learned it was called Convolvulus  - but still a weed.
Now it is cultivated and called Convolvulus arvensis, in many colours, - this was wild in the hedge beside the footpath. Lovely isn't it?  - only a weed indeed!
