Selkie

Today, I was treated to coffee and cake by some very kind friends. This was my first coffee at a cafe for months and months, and it was most enjoyable and the company was good too. This willow weaving of a selkie (a mythical creature that can change from seal to human) was constructed outside the Calgary Arts gallery last year and is still looking good.

This afternoon, after trying for a week, I was happy to manage a photograph of one of the many Scotch argus butterflies which have been flitting round our garden all week. Sadly, I later discovered why this one had posed so beautifully for me.... it will flit no more!
