Heating Up

We are heading for a couple of 100 degree days, Sat and Sun, flanked by a few in the 90s. Ugh. Hard to believe, as the light breezes have been cool. Sure hope the forecast is exaggerating. 
When it cools off, when it's dark and cold, In the winter, I'm going to make one of the cakes nhc described so nicely over the phone: a Yorkshire Parkin. This weekend I'll stick to slicing watermelon and making ice cubes.
