Low tide
Not the best nights sleep, warm and sticky, but woke to a much cooler morning, an altogether more pleasant day today.
A day trip out to Glasson for us today, about an hours drive up the west coast near Cockerham......its a quiet little working dock with a great Smokehouse.
We parked near the bay cycleway and walked along beside the River Lune, where I took todays blip, to the little cafe we had been to before. I had checked on line that it was open.....except wasn't :-/ so an about turn to the village cafe Lantern D'Lune, where we had coffee and a nice sandwich.
We popped into the Smokehouse to see what todays catchnwas. Our neighbour had asked us to get him some Kippers, which we did, as well as some langoustines, dressed crab and cod loin for ourselves ;-) We popped back to the car to put our purchases in the coolbox.
Mid afternoon, so time for an ice cream sat beside the dock, watching young families enjoying their picnics, fishing and generally having a good time.
We had a walk along the canal aswell and sat watching a chap sailing his small sailboat in the marina, until he capsized it :-/ all good though thankfully!
Back to the car........a bit warm, so a few minutes with the doors wide open, before heading for home. Busy on the M6 but back within the hour. As we had the coolbox we stopped off to stock up on some ice lollies and we popped into Costa for an iced latta which went down really well.
This evening we have tied up the mis anthus grasses, before they flower, to stop them flopping sll over the borders, looking much neater now. We have also cut down our Ribes shrub which has bit the dust...its been dropping its leaves and had got very brown and crispy looking.......it is no more!
Dinner was crab and langousitne linguine with a tomato sauce topped with parmesan, very tasty!
The,house feels,so,much cooler this evening, so hopefully a better nights sleep thsn of late!
Stay safe all
