Caught!

For over an hour I watched this butterfly desperately trying to free itself from the spider's web.  When it calmed down the small spider came down to see what more it could do to secure it but each time it touched the wings the butterfly flapped furiously.  Finally the butterfly managed to get free of the two main ties but with damaged wings and exhaustion it now remains attached to one line.  I do hope the spider manages to hold onto it this time.

The thunder and lightning rolled around us last evening but we only received a few drops - everything is desperately thirsty.  Much cooler, cloudy today, with a breeze, so sleeping tonight should be easier.
