Finally managed to book a camper van , with so much uncertainty about which parts of the country are in lockdown and which aren’t, we decided to hire from a local company . 
At the start of the Covid crisis this company decided to lend their camper vans to NHS staff so that they could sleep at the hospital rather than risk their families . It seemed such an admirable thing to do and so we thought we would use the.
We were hoping for something modest , without facilities ( we have got our camping toilet and tent ) but they only had vans left at a higher spec so we are going to have the luxury of facilities although it is still fairly small so shouldn’t guzzle up too much fuel . 
Now we just have routes to plan .
