Left-Handers Day

Created to celebrate sinistrality and raise awareness of the advantages and disadvantages of being left-handed in a predominantly right-handed world.
Approximately 10% of the World's population is left-handed.
As a Leftie myself, I've experienced problems with right-handed scissors, tin openers and potato peelers etc. Now and again I've read up about the history of left-handedness and for example why, in the past, children were forced to write with their 'right' hand. I wasn't forced to do this, but received a lot of criticism at school when I first started to use a pen, as I smudged everything I'd just written. I soon learned to move the 'offending' fingers out of the way!
