Socks Triumphs Again

'Socks Triumphs Again!' the headline to be splashed across tomorrow's Fox and Hound. The Daily Vixen has gone with 'Eggscellent Victory for Team Fox!' whilst Poultry Weekly more sourly is putting the result hidden in a small column on one of the inside pages.

Caught here, the pivotal moment of Socks picking up the egg  making sure he was on camera in the final leg of the Egg and Spoon race which had continued despite torrential rain, thunder and lightening going on overhead. Regardless of the fact the Press box had water leaking through the roof which no matter where one put oneself a drip always found it's mark.

Regardless too of the fact that the Press twice had to be cautioned for making too much noise with crinkly macs, water drips, a squeaky tripod and loose screw on the arca plate which all had the effect of spooking the contestants. 

The main judge of this exciting event did rather have egg on his face after being heard to say beforehand that Team Fox wouldn't pull it off in the rain. He was so wrong.
