Glorious Twelfth

Fortunately no evidence of grouse shooting today, it’s all about salmon fishing here but the weather is all wrong for the groups that have payed big money to fish on the River Carron this week. And apparently the neighbouring estate that wants to introduce wolves is owned by a anti-blood sport millionaire. Thus blissful and complete silence here. The heavy rain that hit parts of the North missed us and the accumulated exhaustion that takes a while to surface hit today and we spent the day doing absolutely nothing. S. phone clocked 47 steps and I slept on the picnic rug in front of the cottage and then drank gin and whisky. I wish I had 3 weeks holiday. I feel I need a lot more sleep!!
