Day 142 The Sequin Queen

Today was yet another scorcher, with virtually no breeze at all, so even harder to move around in.  Violet arrived bright and early and we set about sweeping the patio and surrounding steps and paths before it got too hot.  There seem to be an inordinate amount of leaves to sweep almost on a daily basis, not doubt because of this very dry Summer.  Having done our sweeping, I confess that we did very little for the rest of the day: Violet spent quite a bit of time cooling off in the paddling pool, later joined by The Son and in the evening by Mr MC, who had spent the day working, but in an air conditioned room.  This evening he and The Son went  to the pub for the usual session of backgammon with a friend.  Places now have to be booked and apparently the pub was quiet.  Violet has resumed her Tuesday night sleepovers with us and fell asleep quickly this evening, windows open and fan on, while I watched Joanna Lumley's  Unseen Adventures, highly recommended.
Too hot to be bothered to set up a TT shot so instead I have Violet wearing her sequinned bikini and new sequinned sun visor: you can never have too much sparkle!
