One of four; second lockdown day one (L2D1)
Last night, late, Prime Minister Jacinda Adern announced that due to positive tests for Covid by four members of a South Auckland family, who had no known contact with anyone connected to the quarantined persons, Auckland is back in Level 3 lockdown. Because this suggests community transmission. At least two of the family have moved around the wider Auckland city for work, and one went to Rotorua while symptomatic. Tracking has begun. The rest of the country is at Level 2.
At work today there was considerable agitation as we started back into the processes during the first lot of lockdown. The lock down is for three days. I anticipate that we will then be in Level 4. Because of that, and that with there being a strong likelihood of community Covid 19 infection and transmission, it has been agreed that I will work from home. Rather than "remotely"; from my upstairs office at the unit. It will reduce my exposure to random members of the public.
This afternoon, I had a jog and near the end saw four starlings on the grass verge in a Grey Lynn street. I was able to get a reasonable photo of one of them.
