Dry Stane Dyke

This particular (dry stone) wall runs alongside the road in front of my house. The walls have been standing for at least 100 years - a lot of them were built during the time the village was converted into a farm (post-clearances) and then were added to in the 1920's when the village was re-settled with crofters. Although there is no cement, these walls are solid - a bit like Scotland's defence against Italy today! Well done guys!!
