Tarbert - a Fyne place

Took a wee run to Tarbert Loch Fyne today. Its a rather nice wee place. You can learn much about this wee town by just roaming around.
Things like they love vibrant colours. Itsa fishing town. Their boats are all well kept & nicely painted - bar one! There are some interesting shops like the drapers who wraps his double concentrate firelighters up ith pages from the Daily Record because the little old ladies say they smell too strong among their shopping. In the same shop if you are a female almost 6 foot tall you can buy the longest pink onsie I have ever seen! There are 3 excellent gallery shops one of which you can have coffee in and buy some fantoosh kitchen utensils. The Tarbert folks like to wile away the hours doing jigsaws, the lady in one shop has a budge who likes to help her with her jigsaw. The Anchor Hotel h as had a face lift and Im told the restuaunt is very good. They have a Dutch Barge that sells seafood during high season. One lady has too many knives in her house and doesnt want to put them in the charity shop! now if that were the EAst End of Glasgow Im sure they wouldnt have such qualms. Tarbert has a castle and you can walk part of the much underrated Kintyre Way from there. It has numerous cafes all very good and the chippy has some of the freshest fish ever! Have I sold the place to you all yet? It has a lovely marina which you can alk to along the shore line. They have a sailing eekend, used to be called the Bell Laurie but think the name has changed. Tarbert folks are called dookers and lastly though this may be pure fiction invented by the Lochgilphead patrons of the Comm Bar but they tell it used to have a Harbour Master whose surname was Bates! (work it out for yourslves!)Finally ALL the shopkeepers were lovely, chatty and friendly. So the next time you venture from Glasgow to the lovely Inveraray, this time go further to Tarbert. You wont be dissapointed.
Happy blipping all
