Monarch in the Sun

A butterfly blip seems appropriate for this classic, hot and sunny summer day.  I got to the gardens a little later than planned,  but it wasn't difficult to find subjects.  Again, the butterflies, especially swallowtails, were abundant.  I liked the combo of colors in this shot so it's a monarch for today.  I didn't realize until I looked closer that they have a fine bit of white on the outer edge of the wings, making it appear that the butterfly is pasted onto the background.
