Today’s little beauty
This is Grass of Parnassus. Parnassia palustris.
It grows in damp pastures, moors and marshes mainly in Northern Britain. But I think it can also be found in the Norfolk Broads and the Fens. This morning it was opening in Gait Barrows National Nature Reserve.
I am not made for heat and high humidity and am desperate for the forecast thunder storms to clear the air. But it is often the case that in our bit of the world the promised thunder and lightening never arrives.
