Envy

The flock of sheep stared at the flock of wallowing marsh birds with seething envy, longing to doff their cardigans and paddle in the mud pools.

It was way hot and early we’d hightailed it out of the city to the Essex coast.
Here, walking the saltings, viral anxiety fades, soothed by this timeless, never-changing/ever-changing edge of place.

Later but still earlydays, back on the hard and after WonderA had sniffed out an itinerant gelataioto, we turned our back on the creeping tide and headed back to the sizzling city.
