A Splash of Colour

After a slow start this morning, I eventually squeezed in almost 6 miles.
I have a favourite spot where I can sit and watch for deer and squirrels. They are keeping a low profile currently but I did spend a good 40 minutes attempting to photograph assorted dragonflies and butterflies.
Patience was rewarded when this amazing creature settled for a millisecond.
I believe it is a Common Hawker but am happy to be corrected.
Got home and gave myself a good tick check as I had worn shorts. For once, I was clear...
