Purple & White
Another warm night.....I woke with a start around 5, a spider crawling across my back lol. I sat up pretty sharpish, disturbed hub, found the spider on the sheet, flirted it onto the floor somewhere. Luckily I'm not scared of spiders.....but I couldn't get back to sleep. I think it was because Id woken with a start. As I lay there I saw said spider crawling across the carpet, so got up, grabbed it in a tissue and flushed it away. I think I had injured it when I flirted it :-/ It was 7 before I drifted off again!
Once we were up and had had a cuppa, we decided to walk into town to treat ourselves to a coffee & brunch in Costa.
It was a lovely temperature for walking, not so muggy as yesterday. We have missed our local Costa being open. The guys n gals who work there seem happy to be back to work too.
By the time we wandered home it was after 1. We spent the rest of the afternoon outside in the sunshine......I did some deadheading, cut back some of the trailing plants that were on the floor. Weeded inbetween the flags, swept, washed the birdbath etc. etc. I sat and read a while too.....still about a third to read of the second book in my Ken Follet trilogy! The garden is still looking pretty and colourful.......the cabbage whites were flitting back and forth on the purple Verbena Bonarensis. They don't stay still for very long at all, so I am quite pleased with this shot.
We had a quick simple tea tonight, chicken, jacket potato with salad. Afterwards we went out for another walk, just locally to home.......first time Ive clocked up over 10k steps since my back injury. No ill effects so all good :-) As soon as the weather cools I am going to get back to my speed walking and hopefully start running again.
Tv tonight......A Suitable Boy which we are enjoying, but not as much as Little Birds :-)
Tomorrow is a new week, stay safe all
