We stood at the top of our hill last night and could see the Ribble Estuary shining silver on the horizon . The sun was on its way down but still high enough to send down beams of softened light which was filtered by the clouds to produce a beautiful ethereal effect as if the light was gathering the land in gentle arms .
We tried to capture what we could see but the sun was still too high , despite trying to shade the lens . I played around using the various settings on my iPad and the blipped picture is as good as I could make it .
I posted it anyway because seeing it will remind me of what it really looked like, an aide-memoire of sorts .
