It was a beautiful day...

And I spent most of it in the garden.

Tidying up the dead stems hacking through the undergrowth in some cases and using my new toy - a battery driven hedge trimmer.

Yes it saves my pruning muscles from repetitive strain but doesn't really cut thick stems so they will still need to be pruned. However if I get tidy now it should be easier to just give it a haircut later when the growth is new and soft.

This is an Anemone blanda that has come out in a sunny spot.
