Almshouses

Poynton Almshouses are administered by a charity. The were built at the order of Lord Vernon who owned the coal mines. They are rented to the elderly who must be self sufficient and not need extra care, I think they are for people without much money. They always look like a nice place to live and the gardens are well kept.
