Froglet
One of many I saw today.
Mainly because I did some more pond clearing.
I still can't reach the middle though.
When doing some hedge cutting I rescued a Ladybird from the cuttings in the bin - the first one I have seen this year. (there are more pictures of it)
I spoke to my Lebanese neighbour this morning, knowing that his parents had headed home after managing to get out of lockdown here after 5 months.
They arrived home (Beirut) 12 hours before the explosion.
Their flat looks to the port and they were in, along with their daughter, when the blast hit.
Luckily, they got away with relatively minor injuries, but their flat has no windows or doors and half the internal walls are blown through. Most of their possessions are gone and their car is flat.
Several of my M's friends are dead and more are missing.
There is no insurance and virtually no medical assistance (unless you have some form of private healthcare). The government is corrupt, hated by everybody and virtually bankrupt - over the last few years they have basically taken all savings from the banks so the people have no ability to try and repair damage.
M and his parents have no idea what is going to happen now.
A terrible situation.
