Day 138 Heatwave ll
Today was remarkable for being the hottest August day in the UK for 17 years. The temperatures didn't quite match those of last week, but very nearly, reaching more than 36C in SE England. It certainly seemed stifling to me, although I imagine that those of you who live in warmer climes are not that impressed!
As I felt that it was too warm to venture into the garden until teatime, I spent most of my day doing household chores. Our house is Edwardian, solidly built of red brick and remains quite cool in most rooms. By the time I got round to taking my FF shot, the sun had left our front room, which is why the image looks so shady. Featuring this week is a bargain bunch of splendid gladioli from Waitrose: double the usual amount for a very good price!
My thanks as always to BikerBear for her continued hosting.
