Whiptail

New Mexico style...stopped at the same bower as yesterday for water and shade (94 degrees F).  This wee critter was skittering all about; with so much energy clearly a young 'un.

As per Wiki: The desert grassland whiptail lizard (Aspidoscelis uniparens) is an all-female species of reptiles. It was formerly placed in the genus Cnemidophorus. A common predator of the whiptail lizard is the leopard lizard, that prey on A. uniparens by using ambush and stalk haunting tactics.
Does anyone else find "stalk haunting tactics" somewhat foreboding? Even if they meant hunting instead of haunting, I would not want to be a whiptail!
