Christina's World
Andrew Wyeth painted Christina's World in 1948 in the state of Maine, U.S.A..
I fell in love with this painting at MoMA in New York City many years ago. This photo does not do it justice.
Wyeth used Tempura paint to create this work of art. The detail of every blade of grass, along with the subject, a crippled woman reaching out to her home in the horizon, captured my heart.
I hope you get to see this painting in person one day. It isn't very large, and is not displayed in a prominent spot at MoMA, but you'll know her when you see her.
She will captivate your heart.
