changing norms

When I was a kid our cats were allowed to roam. None of my cats were ever hurt as a result. (One of my cats used to lay in the middle of the road and make the neighbors drive around him.) Now, in many areas, that is considered irresponsible. I have a neighbor who lets her cat roam and she's been judged by at least one other set of neighbors. 

My next-door neighbor called the coronavirus a cultural test - one we are failing 

Thank you for your responses to my anger. I've since learned that many are angry, and many, like Michelle Obama, have what feels like low-grade depression. I think it helps people to know that we are not alone in our feelings, even if we still have to go through them. 

My parents-in-law got their generator fixed this evening and minutes afterward the local utility was out to fix their power! They are powerful again.
