Make Hay While The Sun Shines

...... it was actually sunnier than it looks in the photo.
Backblipped as I’m still behind, sorry.

I’m completely disillusioned with the mental health agencies, there is just no cooperation between them at all.
Mums phone appointment with the dementia clinic psychiatrist went reasonably well..... they changed her meds and recommended that she go into respite care in a nursing home rather than a psychiatric ward.
However, when the social services assessor visited her in the afternoon she blatantly just asked her ‘ do you want to go into a care home?’ to which mum obviously replied ‘no’ ........ a few more questions followed with mum now well and truly on her guard giving her well rehearsed’ stock ‘ answers and the assessor deems that she ‘ has capacity’ and she doesn’t want to go. They even ignored a video we had of mum wandering round her front garden in her nightie at 3am and took her answer that she didn’t do it!!!!
So that was that and we are no further forward despite the psychiatrist’s recommendation ......... for the time being we’ve just given up feeling thoroughly let down and demoralised ....... it’s starting to make my brother and I feel quite unwell, so we’ve told the carers to report any concerns or problems directly to social services and we’ve taken a step back from it all because we just make her more agitated when we phone or visit.
So goodness knows what will happen now ...... we’ll just have to wait and see :-(((
