Mallow, Hibiscus, or...

Rose of Sharon. I think of Hibiscus as a more tropical plant, however, there are some that are fairly hardy. This type of Rose of Sharon is a common shrub in this area. In reading about it, I just learned that it is considered invasive in some parts of the U.S.
