City Day Out

Luckily the weather was perfect for a trip into Glasgow today to meet Cousin Alison for my (very) belated birthday lunch in Browns on George Square.

The restaurant was very quiet - of course all the sensible folk were there in the first half of the week to take advantage of the Eat Out to Help Out ;-) - and we enjoyed catching up in the relaxed atmosphere. Because neither of us was driving, we splashed out and had a cocktail for starters, then washed down our pasta meal with a glass of chilled rosé. Luvverly!

This is the west side of George Square, looking at the nearly-finished new façade of Queen Street Station. Somehow the growing street café culture doesn't look right when crammed onto a narrow pavement!
