HMS Ringtail

While we are still allowed to have statues of our past I thought I would photograph this one.
It is there to remember RNAS Burscough and the aircrew that flew from there during the latter half of WW2.It is believed over 40 Squadrons operated from the site including three squadrons of Supermarine Seafires.

I do wonder what those brave men and women would make of what the country has turned into.I think they would probably be saddened.Their aerodrome is now covered by an Aldi,B&M Bargains etc and this statue is all that reminds us of what they did and the sacrifices they made.

Delivering to Manchester today.I have nothing but respect for those people who have to deal with the British public. Most are ill mannered full of their own self-importance with no idea how to behave.

Must return soon and photograph it properly while it is still standing.

A nice bright start before clouding over.Warm and humid.
