I think my feet were almost as red after a full day at work and 10,000 steps on the step counter.  

The shocking news today came from Lebanon following the horrendous explosion of 2750 tons of ammonium nitrate which had been stored at a warehouse for six years.  The explosion looked like something from Armageddon.......the destruction of a large sector of Beirut is almost total; casualties are in the hundreds and the death toll is rising steadily.  It's hard to imagine how the people of Beirut will be feeling at the moment, as if a global pandemic weren't enough.  My thoughts and prayers are with those whose lives have been so drastically shattered.


In COVID news there have been 2 new cases today and no recoveries bringing the active case total to 24.  It's been 96 days since the last case of source-unknown transmission in New Zealand.
