Native Violets
There’s quite a few patches of these native Australian violets growing by the Cooks River. While not as spectacular as cultivated violets, they’re pretty - and edible, maybe as a garnish. While stumbling around in the bush trying to get a good shot I noticed a flash of white (extra). It’s an eastern great egret and was so still that at first I thought someone had dumped a large garden ornament. It had one eye on the river and the other on me.
