Was It Only Last Week?

A sign of the year moving on fast is this stack at Sumburgh Head that I usually call Guillemot Stack. Not a guillemot or razorbill to be seen on it today whereas my last visit had good numbers on it. The jumplings have gone and autumn approaches very quickly. Also apart from a couple out at sea I saw no Puffins.

My sons decision to bring forward his trip north from Aberdeen became justified as Aberdeen entered a fresh lockdown this evening. If he hadn’t changed it is likely he would have had to cancel his trip.
