pole vaulter

I have just caught up with the fact that the Alternative Olympic Games are underway, so on day 5  I went to watch the pole vaulting. The Southern Hawker took his place at the end of the runway facing a new olympic record height and a certain gold medal. He steamed in against the wind and hung on as the pole swayed and bent before, you guessed it, flying over the bar.
