Never a dull moment!

This morning found me eight feet up, on top of a huge pile of logs behind the hen house, crawling carefully through the ivy, searching for places our naughty hens might be laying their eggs!
As you can see I found eleven eggs, and also three in another hidey hole! This explains the injuries some of our hens have been getting in the last few weeks. Mr F even had to dispatch a white sussex which had hurt its wing and leg so badly, presumably it had flown like a brick from the top of the logs!
We blocked their access to the logs after that, so hopefully normal egg collections will resume now, and after testing the freshness of the eggs in a bowl of water, we had omelettes for lunch!
The extra shows the view down from the top of the log pile!
