COYOTE

Here's another shot from Roosevelt National Park. Just driving along seeing the sights when this fella showed up out of nowhere. We stayed inside the car and shot through an open window. It's amazing how wild critters don't perceive you as human when you're inside a car.....if you stepped out to get the shot he'd be gone in a flash. He was looking for breakfast. In the extra photo you'll see him trotting away with what looks like an apple in his mouth. Coyotes (Canis latrans), being opportunists, will eat whatever presents itself as edible. Where he found the apple I have no idea....no trees here at all. A stupid tourist likely threw it out the window (against the law) but it shows that nothing goes to waste in Mother Nature's backyard.
