Made to Last

I had an early morning stroll around the block in my village of Dallington, Northamptonshire.. It's comforting that not much changes in the village. We still have our Queen Victoria wall-mounted postbox set in the wall of an ancient cottage, dated somewhere between 1853 and 1901. Built to last - or is it the many layers of red paint that are holding it together? It is still in daily use though letters must have been much smaller back then.
