Château de Joux

A grey day so we decided to explore the tourist options in the area, starting with a visit to the Pernot (absinthe) distillery. Only in France can you be sampling the goods at 10.30 am! The extra shows the main room where the distillation takes place...it was like stepping back in time.

Next stop was the Chateau de Joux (main photo) where masks were compulsory despite being outside most of the time. Very interesting to visit though.

Last stop was a ‘tuyé (for drying meat with smoke) and a very informative tour. It offered free campervan parking to France Passion members so we are staying here tonight. Lovely views over farmland.
