Rushall Canal Sunrise
It's always fascinating how the colours of a sunrise develop. Pinks and blues progress into yellows and oranges and you have to keep your fingers crossed that the clouds do not snuff out the colour by interjecting between the sun and your viewing position.
I didn't have time to walk out, but on spying the colours in the sky I jumped in the car and got down to the local canal. The patterns of the clouds were fascinating and the smooth water of the canal gave a lovely reflection of the sky above.
Technical: this is a 5 frame panoramic stitch, using a reverse graduated filter to control the exposure of the sky on the horizon. Imported into Lightroom classic and combined using photo merge I used some dodge and burn to bring out the detail in the far bank of the canal and meadow beyond.
