Old times

An hours walk round the village in the rain which got heavier as the hour passed by.

All that water made me think of the way of life of those who lived here 200 years ago. They had to collect their drinking and washing water from the village pump which was next to this trough.

Having drunk it they had to dispose of it. As my extra shows that is now quite expensive. My old mother would have been shocked at having to pay 8 shillings for a little comfort.

In fact the cost on the promenade facilities has doubled in the past month. No doubt to pay for the new online entry system.
