The grocer's apostrophe

I'm a bit of a stickler for correct spelling and punctuation. It pains me greatly to see apostrophes used incorrectly. A few examples seen this week:

Potatoe's

Daffodil's

and on a school display board of all places -

Housepoint's ...

What hope can we have if educators can't even get it right?
