Pruning for the power lines

After every storm, lots of branches and sometimes trees fall down on power lines in several places, causing outages. So the power company has a big crew, working along the lines to clear away branches and trees that are too close to the lines. But it seems they can not really keep up with the need. In my old Sweden, they had a quite different approach. They have simply taken down the poles with the overhead cables, and now all cables are underground. Probably a big investment in the short run. Probably profitable in the long run.
