Narcissus odorus

Sorry, yet more yellow, but the Jonquils I bought a couple of days ago for my artistic attempt on 6.2.13 are now on death row as their scent is offending Mr. T.

Scent must be the first thing to spring to mind when the name jonquil is mentioned. The well known late flowering Narcissus jonquilla, with up to 4 small bright golden yellow flowers is understandably a garden favourite. Jonquil hybrids also have a long history. The cross between Narcissus jonquilla and Narcissus pseudonarcissus - Narcissus odorus has been in cultivation for at least 300 years. (Text from Wikkie, of course!) and these little yellow beauties do pong something awful in the house!! A lot like oriental lilies which also have a very strong scent and annoy Mr. T!

Have great weekends everyone.
