The shimmering canal

I had errands to do down the town today, so naturally I stopped in a popular city centre bar when I'd done the necessaries.  I said to the barman that the town was heaving with people. He agreed, and said: 'Tourists.' Up until now, I'd been oblivious to this , but when a queue formed at the bar door on a Monday afternoon, I could see his point. This, to put it bluntly is not a good idea. One metre social distancing basically means no social distancing. This is storing up trouble.
