Je Monte, Je Valide
I board, I validate.
After I got out of my DEFLE class today, I noticed that there was new signage in big yellow letters at the tram stops saying "If you board, you validate. Even for transfers. Even for passes." And also in the trams, there are new signs with people with heads of validating machines. I guess the city is really pushing for people to pay for their public transportation usage since there has been a lot of people getting tickets lately.
So, I had my private lesson with my version professor today and then at 12 the Centre de Californie had a little pique-nique for all of us and even for the possible French exchange students that might be going to California. It was fun. Since I was like the only UC student from Irvine, Joelle (one of the administrative ladies from the center) had paired me up with a couple Frenchies who might be going to Irvine for the entire following year. I first spoke with a girl who was really serious about Irvine. She asked me things like how are classes like, how is the campus, what are things to do, etc. Later, Joelle sent over two guys who were also Irvine prospective students. They seemed really excited about Irvine. They had heard about Newport Beach and one of them said he even surfed. So I would think, Irvine would be perfect for him, since the beach is rather nearby.
Anyway, it was a rather nice day today. I even went to the pool later in the day.
