Trying To Hide

I was standing on a ramp beside the large pond as this smaller alligator was swimming behind the growth on edge of the pond.  He is the horizontal silhouette you can barely see, but I think that is the alligator's intent.  My guess is he is about 6-7 feet.  A much larger one was resting on the edge of a green on the golf course near the pond.
