Quieter today

Not as hot as Friday when the beach was rammed, with hot sun and alcohol fuelling fighting amongst teenagers that provoked a large police presence and led to two arrests and some unfavourable media coverage. I saw that at least one press photographer was well placed to capture the 'mayhem' - Portobello does seem to be a go-to place for news stories. But this is also the quieter end of the beach - Joppa, rather than Porty. The busier section is further along, past the white flats in the distance, handy for the first bus stop in Portobello when you come from other parts of the city as well as a supermarket to get supplies of food and drink.
