Common Sowthistle

I only know that this small dandelion-like flower is a Common Snowthistle because the app on my phone tells me so.

I do recognise the wee beastie as a Marmalade Hoverfly who was the most of the mild spell of weather to do some serious feeding.

I went to our church service in the Kelvingrove Building this morning .... so much more enjoyable than last Sunday. Because the service was streamed from there we had a pianist, two violinists, a worship leader and a speaker.  I confess to singing the hymns very quietly to myself .... it just wasn't possible to stand and look at the words of 'Thine be the glory' without singing a tiny bit.
