Sunday Walk

Despite having a sore heel I set out on todays walk. In the end I covered about 9km.

Meet some interesting people along the canal on the homeward leg. Including to chaps who were throwing lines into the canal and pulling them out. Attached to the lines were very powerful magnets and they were pulling out anything metal from the silt at the bottom. They had quite a collection of old tools and other bits and pieces including a rather nasty looking knife. They explained that they had fished out a couple of bikes earlier. Some of their more interesting finds in the past included guns and safes. They sold any metal that they could and donated the proceeds to the local hospice.
